NASA HUNCH DESIGN and PROTOTYPE
CAMP DESCRIPTION: This is a full in-person summer camp broken up into two parts.
- In-Person June 6 to 9, 2022

Time: 9:00 to 11:30
Target: High school students especially current Sophomores and Juniors as of April 30, 2022.
- Virtual Component:
. Meeting every Monday at 10:30 to 12:00 Am on Google Meet to plan what work is going to be done this week, and
. Meeting every Thursday from 1:30 to 3:00 PM on Google Meet to review accomplishments.
Finally an In-person meeting in early August, Date TBD to present the projects and receive a scholarship.
The presentation requirements are as follows:
1- A Prototype
2- A Science Board
3- A Brochure
4- A WEB Site.
This program allows campers to explore the world of NASA HUNCH Projects with Design and Build Prototypes plus Bio-Engineering. Students will get to pick one project from 8 to 12 projects targeted at High School students. Students will work in teams of two or three both in camp and virtually through the summer. There is a final in-person event for the campers to present their project in August.
Students will build a Prototype, Science Board and WEB Site. They will work on the design and build typically within their team and on their own, with the first week used as a boost to accelerate the start. Students will have a chance to meet Johnson Space Center Engineers online as part of the program.. Student Teams will utilize Google Meet twice weekly ( Monday and Thursday ) to meet with mentors and engineers. additionally, teams will work together online or in person based on requirements, schedules, and team dynamics
-Mentoring will take place every week during our in-person sessions and our Google Meets. the mentoring will be led by a Teacher with 35+ years in Design and Engineering projects throughout the world. Mentoring will also be given by Johnson Space Centre Engineers, who will join our Google Meetings periodically in the summer.
-Coaching In Addition we will have one of our coaches, who has been selected by NASA HUNCH Design and Prototype to be available to your teams outside of our Google Meets.
